Raising the roof at Moseley Road Baths

We are delighted to see the results of Historic England’s work to complete essential roof repairs to the main Gala Pool of Grade II* listed Moseley Road Baths in Birmingham. The work was made possible thanks to a grant of over £800,000 from Historic England and a coalition of partners.

The Gala Pool roof and ornate iron structure work has been repaired and painted and the large windows at the far end have been unblocked. The result is stunning, with this being the first time in 17 years that the structure can be viewed without scaffolding or debris detracting from its magnificent Edwardian architecture.

The hope is that now the Gala pool space is weatherproof, it can be used for events and fundraising activities to help with the costs of running the baths.
