The Friends of The City Baths, Newcastle are holding two events in October for people to find out more about the group, and how to get involved. The Friends were instrumental in saving The City Baths, Newcastle and its historic Turkish Baths which were closed in 2013 but have now fully re-opened.

Two short documentaries about the group, and other campaigns to save swimming pools on Tyneside including The City Baths, Jesmond Community Pool and Tynemouth Outdoor Pool, will be screened at the Star & Shadow Cinemaat 7.30pm on Wednesday 2 October.  Find out more and how to book your tickets here.

A Meet the Friends event at The City Baths, Newcastle between 2pm to 3.30pm on Saturday 5 October is for those interested in discovering what the group has achieved and how to get involved as the building approaches its centenary.  Book your place here.
