Baths & Wash Houses Historical Archive

The Baths & Wash Houses Historical Archive holds a comprehensive collection of materials relating to the development, facilities, architecture and social history of baths and wash houses in the UK.  This includes books, papers, photographs, journals, conference reports, written material and artefacts together with an online digital archive which seeks to make the material as accessible as possible.

One of the projects carried out by Carl Evans, who established and maintains the archive, has been to scan copies of all of the journals produced by the Institute of Sport and Recreation Management.  This organisation existed under several names from 1920 to 2011, and from 1934 produced a journal.

You can find out more about the archive here.  And access the journals here.
