Located on the seafront in Penzance, Jubilee Pool is the UK’s largest seawater lido and its first geothermally heated sea pool. It was opened in 1935 to celebrate King George V’s Silver Jubilee, this Grade II listed landmark is a striking example of Art Deco architecture.

Facilities
60m+ Sea Pool, Geothermal Pool, Learners Pool, Sauna and Café.

Notable facts
The sea pool is over 60 metres long, holding around 50 millions gallons of sea water.

The triangular design of the pool is intended to cope with the ferocity of the Cornish seas. The streamlined walls protect swimmers from the strong, offshore winds and form terraces for spectators.

Current plans
Jubilee Pool is open daily from the Easter holidays until the end of October half term. During the winter the sea pool is open three mornings a week: Wednesday, Friday and Sunday (8.30am –10.00am) to facilitate cold water swimming. A range of specialist events and activities are also hosted, such as full moon swims, Aquafit, Aquathlons and Water Polo.

Since 2017 the pool has been operated by Jubilee Pool Penzance, a community run social enterprise.
