HPB event at The City Baths, Newcastle – Tuesday 30 September 2025

On Tuesday 30 September we’ll be hosting our next HPB event at The City Baths, Newcastle.  This will place particpants at the centre of the restoration story that began in 2012 when it was announced that the Baths would be closed.  We’ll hear about the community-led response, the campaign that followed, the breakthrough moments and the work that was undertaken to restore the building as it is today.

Also joining us to share a campaign update will be the Friends of Carlisle Victorian & Turkish Baths, who have been working hard to secure the future of the baths and ensure that the community doesn’t lose this precious resource.

Refreshments will be available from 10.30am and presentations will commence at 11.00am.  Lunch will be available at 12.30pm and this will be followed with a site tour at 1.30pm.  At 2.15pm there is the chance to experience the Turkish Baths and have a swim (both optional).  We will close at 4.15pm.

Bookings are open on our Events page, select the Newcastle event and add the appropriate ticket(s) to the basket and checkout.

• Current Pool members receive 2 free places (+ £20 charge to cover lunch & refreshments)
• Extra pool member places are available to book at £45 each (including lunch & refreshments).
•  Individual members receive 1 free place (+ £20 charge to cover lunch & refreshments).
• We also welcome non-members to all our events, places are £60 each including lunch & refreshments.

Bookings are open until Tuesday 23 September and must be paid for in full ahead of the event.
