Member Event: Saturday 30 September, Newcastle City Pool & Turkish Baths

Our next Historic Pools of Britain event takes us to the heart of a multi-million pound restoration project that will bring back to life the stunning grandeur of Newcastle City Pool and Turkish Baths.

Built in 1928 and closed in 2013, it was thanks to Historic Pools of Britain that operators Fusion Lifestyle became aware of the community campaign to save the pool. Highly experienced in sports and leisure management facilities, Fusion Leisure is supporting a number of projects to bring historic pools back to life including Broomhill Pool in Ipswich and Saltdean Lido in Brighton.

Those attending will get a hard-hat tour of the site, where work is due to be completed in spring 2018, and an insight into the project from presentations.

The event takes place on the 2nd anniversary of Historic Pools of Britain, which also falls on Sporting Heritage Day, which we will be marking.

We organise two member events per year, visiting different member pools to share experiences, listen to keynote speakers and find out more about projects around the country. Non members representing historic pools, those working within the built environment heritage sector and those associated with sporting heritage are also welcome to attend. We can offer press places.

Members: 2 places complimentary, additional places £25

Non members: £40
