Funding News for Broomhill Pool

Broomhill Pool Trust has announced that a funding package has been secured that unlocks the restoration plans for the lido, which was built in 1938.  Such a step has been necessary following the impact of the Covid pandemic, which halted existing plans that were in place and saw costs escalate.  Now thanks to a funding partnership between Ipswich Borough Council, Fusion Lifestyle and the National Lottery Heritage Fund, work can commence in bringing back Broomhill Pool to its former glory.

Part of the Modernist movement, Broomhill Pool is a community asset and nationally significant lido.  When the Grade II listed lido was closed in 2002 a friends group immediately formed, which followed with the establishment of the Trust in 2003 that has been leading the charge towards restoration ever since.  The announcement means that Broomhill Pool could be set to reopen in 2026.
