Hathersage Swimming Pool celebrates its 90th birthday

Ninety years after first opening its doors, the historic outdoor Hathersage Swimming Pool has celebrated its 90th birthday, with the beautiful Peak District providing a spectacular backdrop to the celebrations.

The pool was built in 1936 thanks to the generosity of local businessman George Lawrence, whose vision helped create a facility that would become a much-loved part of Hathersage village.

To mark the milestone, the pool hosted a special birthday weekend bringing together the community for a celebration of its remarkable history and continued importance featuring live music, art displays and, of course, swimming!
